The Shiatsu Therapy Association of Ontario records incorporation in August 1983 after discussions that included students and practising providers. Its history describes an effort to organize standards and public education.

Shiatsu students, established practitioners and STAO organizers · 1983. This is another documented route from a method to an Ontario professional community. Schools, associations and individual practice are connected parts of transmission, but they are not identical institutions.

An association’s historical licensing ambition is not the same as current statutory RMT registration. Check today’s status separately.
